Η επιστολή στον Πλατινί

Στην επιστολή, η οποία είχε αποσταλεί πριν την εκδίκαση της έφεσης της ΠΑΕ Ολυμπιακός Βόλου κατά της πρωτόδικης απόφασης της Πειθαρχικής Επιτροπής της Super League για υποβιβασμό της ομάδας, απευθύνονται στον Μισέλ Πλατινί, υπογραμμίζοντας ότι ο μεγαλομέτοχος της Βολιώτικης ΠΑΕ, Αχιλλέας Μπέος, συνελήφθη και κατηγορείται, ωστόσο, ο Ολυμπιακός Βόλου δεν έχει καμία εμπλοκή στην υπόθεση των «στημένων». Κάτι, που αποδείχθηκε κατά την ακροαματική διαδικασία, όταν κανείς από τους βασικούς μάρτυρες δεν μπόρεσε και δεν είχε αποδείξεις για συμμετοχή της ομάδας.

Μάλιστα, όπως τονίζεται στην επιστολή, οι οπαδοί είναι πεπεισμένοι ότι το σκάνδαλο στο ελληνικό ποδόσφαιρο έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί από την Κυβέρνηση για πολιτικούς σκοπούς, προκειμένου να καλύψουν τη βρωμιά άλλων ανθρώπων ή ομάδων.

«Πρόκειται για αποτέλεσμα που έχει ήδη την υπογραφή της ελληνικής κυβέρνησης και δεν βασίζεται σε νομικά επιχειρήματα. Αργά ή γρήγορα θα φανεί. Επιμένουμε ότι η ομάδα μας είναι καθαρή, όπως και κρυστάλλινα νερά», αναφέρεται μεταξύ άλλων.

Παράλληλα, επισημαίνουν ότι η ομάδα τους είχε πολλές επιτυχίες στην πρώτη της συμμετοχή στην Super League, κέρδισε τα παιχνίδια στον αγωνιστικό χώρο και παραθέτουν μία σειρά από αγώνες, από τους οποίους αποδεικνύεται η ποιότητα που διαθέτει ο Ολυμπιακός Βόλου.

Επίσης, γίνεται αναφορά στην ανεργία που επικρατεί στο Βόλο και πόση χαρά έδωσε ο Ολυμπιακός Βόλου στους κατοίκους της πόλης με το ποδόσφαιρο που έπαιξε, ενώ τονίζεται ότι η ανεργία θα κορυφωθεί από τη… χασούρα που θα έχουν οι καταστηματάρχες σε περίπτωση που το σωματείο υποβιβαστεί

Τέλος, ζητούν από τον Πλατινί, ο οποίος σύμφωνα με την άποψή τους έχει τη δύναμη, να αλλάξει την προκλητική αντιμετώπιση που έχουν η ομάδα, οι οπαδοί και η πόλη από το κράτος και την ΕΠΟ, ενώ τον καλούν να παρακολουθήσει από κοντά επόμενο ευρωπαϊκό παιχνίδι για να διαπιστώσει τις δυνατότητες της ομάδας.

Mr. President

As you are aware of, the president and stockholder of Olympiakos Volou F.C has been arrested and charged for several allegations. During the initial court hearing in the premises of Greek Super League no one of the prosecution witness that testified was able to prove the involvement of Olympiakos Volou team to any of the allegations. However, according to the first verdict our team was punished with relegation. A provocative decision that already appealed by Olympiakos Volou legal team.  Appeal is expected to be discussed on Wednesday, August 3rd .  This time in the premises of the Greek Soccer Federation.

Our team last year, in its come back to the 1st Soccer Division (Super League) after 20 drain years, reached high standards and had many achievements. The Club managed to reach the Greek Cup semifinals, participated in the playoff race that gave the ticket for the first time ever to participate in the Europa League qualifying rounds. We need to stress at this point, that Olympiakos Volou F.C managed to beat 3 out of 4 times both AEK Athens & Panathinaikos. Two superior Greek Football Clubs! Even away with 0-4 & 0-1 respectively!

No other Greek team managed to win both first away games of UEFA competitions in its initial appearance. Beginners luck?

We do not think the above results and achievements are outcome of fishy games and therefore prove the quality of the team of Olympiakos Volou F.C on the field.

Mr. President

As an ex-top player with enormous international achievements, team and personal honors (who can forget your performance against Brazil in the World Cup) you know how hard is and how much effort a player needs to accomplish in order to reach remarkable goals. Do not let take it away from the players that gave their heart ON the field. Team performance and players quality met recognition and admiration by all Greek Soccer fans. During the 2010-2011 soccer season, there was not even one negative implication and report from sport newspapers for the magnificent results and potentials of Olympiakos Volou team!  Soccer needs clean, fancy, healthy, quality, passionate and protagonistic teams and so is Olympiakos Volou.

But we strongly believe that is important to distinguish between any personal implication and Olympiakos Volou team involvement!

We ask for your understanding and gentle implication to this case, because we are convinced that Greek Soccer scandal is used by the Greek Government for political reasons. Perhaps to cover up the dirt of other people and teams that can not be touched due to conventional reasons! Soccer can’t be autonomous and self-administered when Greek Sport Minister implies that in case the outcome of the Soccer Scandal trial is not satisfactory then the State will interfere! The people of city of Volos together with local Commercial Association, General Chamber of Magnesia County and Olympiakos Volou F.C major sponsors intend to appeal and go after the case for lost profits if our team relegates.

You have the authority and power to change this provocative confrontation our team, fans and the city of Volos face by Greek Soccer Federation and State. For the joy of the game our team and players offer during the duration of soccer match. You are  invited to attend next Europa League qualifying game and witness on your own the potential of our team.

P.S We wouldn’t bother you if we were not convinced that Soccer issue is going to be encountered based on harsh and biased athletic court scandal decision. An outcome that has already the signature of the Greek Government and is not based on legal arguments. Sooner or later it will be proved. We insist that our team is clean, like crystal water.

P.S2 People of the city of Volos (5th in population in Greece ) are hit by huge unemployment. Team performance and accomplishments gave them hope and energy to manage adversity. A 50% discount ticket for the unemployed gave them the chance to watch occasionally home games, else on TV and brag about the club. An unfair relegation would cause disappointment and more depression.
